“It’s better to do the right thing wrong than to do the wrong thing right,” entrepreneur Pamela Spokes says of Finnish immigration policy. She says policy makers may be addressing the wrong problem as they try to design a service to help entrepreneurs and other skilled professionals to relocate to Finland.
The Service Designer who relocated from Canada in 2007, joined Finland: Through the looking glass to discuss her entrepreneurial journey and to ponder some of the big questions facing Finland: skilled immigration and what Finland could look like in the future, unemployment among the foreign-background community and English as a gateway language to a career in Finland.
The podcast was recorded at Enchanté Café, which is located at Eerikinkatu 9 in Helsinki. The producer and presenter was Denise Wall and the technical producer was Travis Glossop. Listen to the full episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Anchor.fm
